It’s decided, on January 18th, Phil Mickelson will make his 2012 PGA Tour debut at the Humana Challenge in La Quinta, California.
Mickelson’s a two time winner of the tournament formerly know as the Bob Hop Classic. After winning in 2002 and 2004 he went on to great success each year. Phil said, “Some of my best seasons have come after starting at this event and I’m really excited about coming back again.”

The last time Mickelson played in the event was 2007, but this year is different for him as the event will be co sponsored by former President Bill Clinton’s foundation. This was probably one of the reasons Phil decided to play.
Mickelson said, “I’m honored to join President Clinton and the Clinton Foundation for the Humana Challenge. I admire President Clinton and the charitable work of his Foundation, which helps millions of people around the world.”
The 39 time PGA Tour champion and 4 time major winner will join Bill Haas, Justin Leonard, Chad Campbell, and Jhonattan Vegas in late January.
